Always wanted to have Teardrops from Womack & Womack in a mashup but it was so hard (for me) to find the right song to mash it up with regarding key and dynamics. Must have tried about 20 different songs to remix it with and I was about to quit. Then on record store day 2025, while waiting in line to get in I heard the Purple Disco Machine banger - Feel my needs and I had my mind set on it!
Already had the Ce Ce Peniston vocals, and yes, you are right, the keys might be a bit off but I didn't want to say goodbye to Ce Ce and I always like to be a bit 'disruptive' ;) The world has changed a lot in the (almost) 40 years between the songs I used in the mashup, and the person I was back then and I am now but while creating, watching & listening to my mashup I realized that a beat's a beat and music is timeless!
So, eat sleep rave repeat ;)
